The authority who calculates the inflation of a country;


Inflation of any country is generally complied by the Institution responsible compiling national statistics. In Sri Lanka, inflation is calculated by the Department of Census and Statistics.

The rate of inflation per year for the last 15 years in Sri Lanka;



Annual Average Inflation for the last 15 years (*)

(*) Inflation was based on CCPI (1952=100) up to 2003

Thereafter it is based on CCPI (2002=100)

After provision for inflation in each, the real value of money as at today of Rs.1,000 in 1995 (today’s purchasing power of Rs.1,000 earned in 1995)


Current Value of Rs.1,000 Earned in 1995

Thereafter it is based on CCPI (2002=100)

Will he state the names of the person responsible for giving irresponsible guidance to the economy of the country;



Does not arise as economy of the country is being operated with responsibility.


Will he also state the inflation for the last 05 years in countries such as India, Pakistan, Maldives, Bhutan, Nepal, Singapore and Malaysia;
