QUESTIONS FOR ORAL ANSWERS

To be raised by the Hon. Ravi Karunanayake when
Parliament meets on Friday 6th November 2009



1.    0895/’09
Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, – To ask the Minister of Export Development and International Trade, –

a)    Will he inform this House –

(i)    the amount of money allocated in the Budget of 2007, 2008, 2009 and for capitol and recurrent expenditure;

(ii)    the amount really allocated for capital and recurrent expenditure for the years 2007, 2008 & 2009; and

(iii)    how the Ministry managed such a reduction without affecting the efficiency of the Ministry?


b)    Will he state the amount of money spent on separately for all the Ministers in the Ministry for transport, foreign travel, hotels (local & foreign), security and assistants etc. along with the other major costs that was spent on per year basis for 2007, 2008, 2009


c)    If not why?

Hon. Ravi Karunanayake – To ask the Minister of Finance and Planning, –

a)    Will he inform this House –

(i)    all the names of the Projects that the government of China or Chinese companies handling in Sri Lanka, from 1st  January, 2006 to date;

(ii)    whether it is under the loan, grant or joint Venture; and

(iii)    the financing sources and all the related cost for (i) above?


b)    Will he state –

(i)    the items or Equipment brought form China on the government assisted basis such as Locomotives, Plants, Computers, Vehicles; and

(ii)    the cost and financing methods agreed?


c)    If not why?
